Anything you like! The session is all about capturing the essence of your child. Erin encourages bold colours and patterns, which give the photographs a fun, relaxed feel. Funky hats, gumboots, even tutus and other accessories are fantastic. However, she does ask that you shy away from any clothing with name brands, pictures, or words on them, which can detract from the child and give the photographs a dated look. If you prefer a classic feel, simple plain clothing can also provide a timeless look. This option is also best for parents, if family photos are to be taken. You are welcome (and encouraged!) to bring several different wardrobe changes to give your session a bit of variety.
For family photographs, Erin recommends dressing everyone in clothes that compliment each other. For example, you might dress everyone in creams, greens, and browns, or some other complimenting colour scheme. She asks that you try to avoid dressing everyone in the same colour, which can look unnatural.
Feel free to bring along anything you might want to photograph WITH your child. If they have a favorite toy or blanket, they love tea parties or skateboarding, or even if they like dressing up as a fairy princess or a superhero…these are the things that you will look back on and remember with fondness when they are grown.
